AFSA has embarked on an official collaboration with the largest network of school leaders in Italy, Senza Zaino.

Lizzy Crispin headed the committee that led Leonardo da Vinci High School to become the first and only Blue Ribbon high school in Buffalo, New York.

Overall, fatalities on the job rose 5.7%. The rise in fatal occupational injuries from 2021 to 2022 is “alarming and unacceptable” to the AFL-CIO.

What is a National Blue-Ribbon School?

It is a school that has closed the achievement gap for students who needed to overcome challenges that previously affected their academic progress.

Buffalo’s Leonardo da Vinci High School has a graduation rate of over 90%.  This success, along with a unique program that allows students to enroll in fully accredited and transferable college courses as early as their sophomore year, contributed to DaVinci’s being one of only 38 schools selected out of a pool of 420 applicants nation-wide.

The American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA) today endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for president and vice president of the United States.

In a letter to the members, AFSA President Ernest Logan wrote, "Vice President Biden and Sen. Harris are the best advocates for public schools. They believe strongly that a well-funded public education system is vital to our nation."

As we close in on Election Day, we ask you to look at the candidates’ records, and you will clearly see the difference on the support they will provide public education.

Back in May, former Vice President Joe Biden won the AFL-CIO endorsement for president; it was announced in a 10-minute speech by federation President Richard Trumka.

Today, it is hard to be excited and happy with the uncertainty brought on by COVID-19 and the crazy politics bombarding us every day.
